Blue Spruce Picea pungens
Family: Pinaceae (Pine)
Branching: Evergreen
Other names: Colorado Spruce
This is a common introduced ornamental, growing naturally in mountains
of the Western US. New growth is distinctively blue, making
identification very easy. It escapes very rarely and is usually
found only on planted sites. Its seed cones have unique scales and are larger than most
native species, but smaller than those of Norway Spruce
